Wills For Married Couples & Unmarried Couples

Without a Will it is not certain that your spouse will inherit all your assets. Under Intestacy spouses only automatically inherit £250k of their partners estate plus 50% of the remainder with the balance going to direct descendants. Over past years there have even been cases of mother’s having to sue their own children to gain access to money which has been passed on to due to no Will being in place.

Wills For Unmarried Couples

If you do not write a will your partner may not receive anything.  Rules of Intestacy make no provision for unmarried partners. So if you live together without being married it is vital that you both have Wills if you wish to make sure your partner inherits from your estate.

How To Write A Will For People who are Divorced or Separated

If you are separated or divorced you must write a will. Without one there could be a claim on your estate if anything were to happen to you. Anyone in a second relationships should have a clear Will to secure inheritance by their new partners. Without one either an old Will may still be valid or a claim from a former partner might be recognised by the Courts.
