Worry not

There is much emphasis at present on mental illness

The combination of Coved, shutdown,, self-isolation, lack of normal illness treatment has created considerable fear in the minds of many people. Being left with one’s own thoughts for over eighteen months has a severe effect on individuals

The fear is usually of serious illness or even death. Unfortunately these are with us throughout life but recent events have exaggerated them to a much larger extent. Worrying about them just worsens the position.

Preventing illness and death is not possible although a regular healthy lifestyle will do a lot to help

The prudent thing is to plan for them.

For severe illness make sure someone is authorised to take care of you and your affairs. Do this by creating Lasting Powers of Attorney and having them in place to be used when necessary.

For death ensure your assets will reach those nearest and dearest to you. Create a Will to clearly state your wishes if death should occur.

Once in place these documents should give you peace of mind and help reduce the mental stress of present day worries.
